My couples counselling training is based around the Gottman method, which focuses on strengthening relationships by improving communication and managing conflict effectively. Together, we can work through any areas of built-up resentment and work towards repair. This allows you to take away new skills to work through any future issues as a team.

    My focus is on providing a relaxed, friendly space for you to share, build awareness, and find clarity.  I believe you are the expert of your own life, allowing you to find the pace and agenda that most benefits you. I am here to help you explore any issues you choose to bring, and to work through these together. I use an Integrative approach, principally based on Person Centred therapy, while also incorporating some CBT and existential ideas, ensuring a comprehensive psychotherapy experience in Epsom.

    In your first session we will discuss what has  brought you to counselling and what you would like to gain from sessions. I understand the first session can feel daunting, we will work at a pace that is comfortable for you.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How do I choose a counsellor?

    I understand that choosing a counsellor can be a challenging choice, I am happy to offer a free 15-minute call to answer any questions you may have and to provide a glimpse of how it might feel to work with me. I am also happy to answer any questions over email. 

    How long are sessions?

    Sessions last for 1 hour.

    How much do they cost?

    Individual sessions cost £60, while couples therapy sessions are available for £80 for 1 hour, or £120 for 90 mins. 

    Do you just listen to me?

    I do listen a lot! I believe that one of the things that makes counselling so special is that we are truly heard and seen. However, I do talk too, I am here to help you explore your thoughts and feelings, including different perspectives and gentle challenge.

    How many sessions will I need?

    We will regularly review our work together, and it is entirely up to you how long you would like to have sessions for.  I am happy to work with you both long term or short term basis.

    Are face to face sessions available?

    I provide both online and in person sessions. 

    Are sessions confidential?

    Yes, absolutely, confidentiality is key to building a trusting relationship.As a BACP accredited counsellor, I adhere to the BACP ethical framework, and all clients will receive a copy of my confidentiality agreement prior to a session.
